Pangea is an application that utilizes algorithmic software to assist users in addressing climate change in a more efficient manner. Specifically, the application recommends the most effective renewable energy option for the user while taking into account various factors regarding the user that affect the efficiency of the renewable energy source. This allows individuals, corporations, and government agencies to receive tailored recommendations that ensure flexibility and convenience.

Climate change is throwing the world into disarray. To combat this omnipresent threat, a more efficient solution for the installment of renewable energy sources is needed. Our innovation, the Pangea Program, revolutionizes renewable energy utilization by meeting demand for a specialized and personalized energy consultant through a unique climate algorithm.

Our team drafted a plan to develop an easy-to-use app that can determine the best renewable energy source for a particular location. We found there was no similar products on the market. We ideated a unique algorithm and adaptive data to determine long term and short-term solutions.
We also decided to challenge of informatics. Solutions exist, but there is no medium through which they are connected to application. Demand is disconnected from supply. Our innovation allows customers to access innovations based on region and situation.

Our market strategy is simple. First, gain grants from foundations to kickstart app development. When our app is finished, we will partner with government agencies and corporations to earn money. Advertisements in the app will earn the remaining revenue needed to continue maintenance and updates. Since our app is digital only, there will be no physical costs associated with it.
There are some similar products on the market already, but they do not fit all three criteria of accessibility, accuracy, and adaptability. While for example government databases may be comprehensive and real-time, they are not accessible easily to the average consumer, and are often rigid in their application uses. While blog posts and online articles and guides may be easily accessible to the average consumer, they are usually not adaptable, and accuracy can be called into question.
Our solution differs from existing alternatives due to the nature of the algorithm. Current algorithms create plans tailored to tackle specific problems, whereas our solution compiles existing plans and data to create an adaptive program of viable solutions. In short, our innovation looks broad, encompassing all areas of renewable energy to determine which one is best. This can range from biomechanical manpower energy to solar. Our impact is likely to depend on the amount of usage and download our app gets. Additionally, the type of users we receive are critical. This is due to a government agency partnership being more impactful than an individual homeowner. In the best-case scenario, we hope to provide a useful tool that will leave a noticeable mark on the fight against climate change. This algorithm would be likely trademarked or copyrighted to avoid plagiarism.
Due to the innovative nature of our design, we could copyright various aspects of the algorithm used to determine optimal renewable locations and types, and that could protect the value of the innovation overall. This would allow enough revenue to be sustainable in operations.

The app was developed by first creating a skeleton structure code, focusing on user interface design and algorithm, supported by additional research on energy dependency and renewable energy sources. The algorithm was designed based on an emphasis on its adaptability. Then, the team validated the innovation through a two-step process, assessing demand and feasibility.
